Trusted PartneRS
CMS builds trusted partnerships to strengthen the support we offer our members. We collaborate with proven professionals and organizations that share our values of integrity, transparency, and compassionate service.
Before formalizing any collaboration, we review each prospective partner to ensure their qualifications and practices align with CMS standards. Partnerships are confirmed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that clearly outlines shared objectives, responsibilities, and member benefits.
These relationships help CMS connect members with reputable, fairly priced services—supporting our mission to provide accessible, affordable, and respectful end-of-life planning resources for all Albertans.

The Seniors Resource Council of Alberta (SRCA) is a non-profit organization offering senior friendly products and services dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors in Alberta. The Council oversees an elite group of highly credible businesses and Not-For-Profit organizations, which focus on offering products and services for seniors and their families. One of the Seniors Resource Council of Alberta’s primary initiatives is to act as a resource to keep seniors informed of services that contribute to their well-being and independence.
The Cooperative Memorial Society is a participating member of the Seniors Resource Council of Alberta (SRCA), and we’re proud to be connected to a province-wide network focused on supporting older adults. Through SRCA, we stay informed about emerging issues, practical resources, and best practices that affect seniors and their families—especially around planning, decision-making, and navigating services. This relationship strengthens our ability to provide clear, trustworthy education and to connect members with reputable supports beyond our own programs. For CMS members, the value is simple: better information, stronger community connections, and an added layer of confidence that the guidance you receive is informed by collaboration with respected seniors-serving organizations. The Cooperative Memorial Society is an active participant in the Seniors Service Providers Interagency (SSPI)—a network of organizations serving seniors across the Red Deer region. SSPI creates a practical space where local agencies coordinate efforts, share what’s working, and strengthen community supports for older adults, with an age-friendly lens and the voices of seniors at the centre.
For CMS members (and the broader community), our involvement helps us build stronger local connections and clearer referral pathways—so seniors and families can more easily find reliable information and supports. It also allows CMS to collaborate on community education and align with local events and outreach opportunities. Just as importantly, being at SSPI tables is a meaningful way for CMS to get the word out to potential members, raise awareness of affordable planning and funeral options, and further our mandate through trusted relationships with organizations already supporting seniors day to day. |

Personal Assistants: Compassionate, Practical Support for Everyday Life
When life feels overwhelming or responsibilities start to pile up, a personal assistant can be a helpful support for CMS members and their families. These professionals provide practical, caring assistance for seniors, people with health or mobility challenges, and anyone who could use an extra hand—so you don’t have to manage everything alone.
Personal assistants can tailor support to your needs, whether that’s running errands, getting to appointments, setting up or troubleshooting technology, or helping with decluttering, downsizing, and home organization. They’re also a great resource when family members live in different cities—or when everyone is juggling busy lives—because they can provide reliable, on-the-ground help and updates when you can’t be there in person.
