CMS Board Announces Search for Executive Director as Organization Grows Province-Wide
As the Cooperative Memorial Society (CMS) continues to expand its reach across Alberta, our Board of Directors is in the midst of an important transition—from an operational (working) board to a policy board. This change reflects our growth as a provincial organization and our commitment to better serving our over 28,000 members. A key component of this governance transition is the appointment of our first-ever Executive Director (ED).
This new role will be critical in leading CMS as we move forward, ensuring we extend our geographic reach and enhance the services we provide. The Executive Director will work closely with our Membership Services Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations and drive strategic initiatives. To find the best candidate for this important position, we are conducting a comprehensive search. Our competition for the Executive Director role has been advertised across multiple platforms to reach a wide pool of qualified candidates. The competition closed on September 6, 2024, after which our Recruitment Committee will conduct interviews later in the month.
We are excited about the future and look forward to having our new Executive Director in place by the end of the year. This appointment marks a significant milestone for CMS, positioning us to continue our mission of providing affordable and dignified funeral services to all Albertans. Stay tuned for further updates as we move through this process. Thank you for your ongoing support as we embark on this new chapter in our organization's history.
