Bylaws
The original Bylaws of the Calgary Co-operative Memorial Society were established in 1966 and filed with Alberta Government Services in 2004 to meet regulatory requirements. Minor amendments were approved by members in 2013, 2015, 2021, and 2022.
The board is currently working on repealing the 2022 bylaws. This effort is part of an ongoing initiative to streamline and enhance our governance framework. The 2022 bylaws will be amended to remove unnecessary details that are addressed under Board policies, existing legislation, or the Cooperative Act and its regulations. Additionally, the language will be simplified to ensure that the bylaws are more accessible and easier to understand. The Board's goal is to present these to the members for approval at its Annual Meeting, in February 2026.
